A seminar «Sapere Aude: Civic Education for a Society of Citizens» in partnership with European Humanities University and with support from Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics in the framework of the Advanced School programme brought together about 40 representatives of civil society, expert community, journalists, human rights defenders, diplomats, academia from EU, Ukraine, Russia, Central Asia, South Caucasus, and US to discuss the most pressing issues facing societies today. Courses, workshops, roundtables, and discussions focused on significant challenges of our time, such as the value shift in politics, decolonial perspective on knowledge, art and history, AI and ethics, political language and how it’s shaped and how it’s shaping our reality, responsibility of a society and individual, new security framework and the role of civil society in it. Participants and experts also discussed fundamental problems related to justice and the rule of law, and the importance of standing up for the universal values of freedom, dignity, and human rights.
