He spent 5 years (2005−2010) as Permanent Representative of Poland to the Council of Europe. Before that he was Undersecretary of State (Deputy Foreign Minister) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. He also worked as a diplomat in Nairobi, Austria, Armenia, and occupied different diplomatic positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
