Has curated a remarkable series of films paying tribute to Russian writers, using a variety of techniques including non-fiction and staged film, animation, puppetry, shadow theater, installations and computer graphics. Since 2016, he has taken on the role of organizer, producer and director of a series of poetry evenings called ‘From the Author’, where guest poets not only share their work, but also offer insights into their creative processes, building an invaluable film archive of contemporary Russian poetry. Liberov’s unique style, often described as quasi-documentary cinema, seamlessly blends animation, puppetry, graphics, acting, photography and documentary elements, with a strong emphasis on the musical dimension of his films.
