Sergey Lukashevsky

Editor-in-Chief of Radio Sakharov (Project - Recherchen für die Gesellschaft gGmbH). Member of the Moscow Helsinki Group since 2017. From 2004 onwards he has been a permanent consultant to the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Russian Federation.

Working with Memorial since 1991, took the position of editor of the Memorial Society Newsletter in 1998. From 1999 to 2004 he worked for the Moscow Helsinki Group, his latest position was the head of monitoring programmes. Later worked as a Director of the Demos Centre, Consultant to the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. Since December 2008 Executive Director of the Sakharov Centre — Public Commission for the Preservation of the Memory of Academician Sakharov. In 2015 awarded with the Moscow Helsinki Group Award. Author of articles on the history of the dissident movement in the USSR and the human rights situation in Russia. In 1999−2003, editor of the MHG’s annual all-Russian reports on the human rights situation and a number of thematic publications on human rights issues.
