This is due not only to the new administration in the US, but also to other global processes, including the rise of China, inequalities within liberal democracies, and Russian revanchism. How are the role and ambitions of the US as a global power changing? What approaches are being considered in eleven other key states — China, Russia, Iran, India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Turkey, Germany, France, France and Japan? Chatham House in collaboration with 14 researchers has prepared a wide-ranging research paper on the future of the world order for the U.S. National Intelligence Council; the text was then adapted for publication.
