According to the UN forecast, Russia’s population may decrease by at least 20 million people by the end of the century. The Russian government is applying its own incentives to increase the birth rate: inculcating patriarchal family values, banning abortion and introducing fines for «childfree propaganda». How do the new measures affect society and does it really help to improve the demographic situation?
