The key idea of this book is to explore the origins of civic consciousness awakening, which leads to the emergence of a stratum of thinking people and a future coalition for change in the country; to get into the spirit of the time in order to understand it. To understand the 1940s-1980s — in order to see: the history of civic consciousness did not begin this morning; before Facebook and Telegram, there were social networks — guitars, tape recorders, samizdat, tamizdat; before «Mayak» and «Jean-Jacques» — «shalmans,» «’kvartniki» and kitchen conversations. We stand on the shoulders of giants who stand on the shoulders of other giants, and this continuity has been going on for decades. The history of civic consciousness awakening has its own regularities and recurring plots, which allows us to better understand the opportunities of present day citizens’ society.
